Welcome Back, Free Promotional Drawstring Bags!

School started again recently and I would have to see no one was excited to get back to class.  It was cold, everyone was bundled up and slouched down in their chairs.  Professors handed out their syllabuses and tried to kill time because everyone knows you dont learn anything useful on the first day and we let out early.  That was the only plus of the day, until my walk home.

On my way back I decided to grab some lunch in the quad when I saw people gathering around a few people handing out free promotional drawstring bags!  I ran over to see how I could get my hands on one.  They were having a trivia contest.  Each correct answer got you a custom cinch bag (1 per person obviously) until they were out of bags.  When I got over there they had five bags left.  It was movie trivia which is right up my alley.

The next question was, “Who won best supporting actor at last year’s Academy Awards?”  An easy one for me, Christian Bale is one of my favorite actors, so I shouted his name.  They pointed at me like I won, but asked me a follow-up, “Which film?”  The Fighter.  And they threw my a promotional cinch bag.  It had Paramount‘s logo on it.

I threw my books in my new custom drawstring bag and walked home.  My roommates had actually skipped class and found their way there as well, picking up promotional bags as well.  Today was a good day.

Has a Backpack Ever Got so Much Recognition

Is it true? Athletes can really sell anything?  Maybe not, but when you become known for something it becomes a lot easier.  Well-known actors can sell their movies based off their name,  Jessica Simpson was a spokesperson for tuna after her ditzy moment on her reality show, and athletes are usually an easy sell for shoes.  But what about backpacks?  No one would really associate them with backpacks, until now.  After games NBA superstar Kevin Durant usually conducts his interviews wearing a backpack.  This got people so intrigued.  There were articles about “Whats in Kevin Durant’s Backpack”, a twitter campaign to Find Kevin Durant’s Backpack and now Durant even has his own line of custom backpacks.

It’s unbelievable to me what people take an interest to and how easy it is for a recognizable face to make money off anything.  For people who actually have to earn their keep a backpack can cost you a little bit of money.  Luckily for myself, my company gave away promotional backpacks as a Christmas gift this year.  I wonder if whoever thought of the idea really liked Kevin?

Custom Laundry Bags can be Pretty Creative

I am probably one of the few people that actually enjoy doing laundry.  I dont really know why.  I guess it gives me a little time to myself.  I can sit down and think for awhile or relax and read a book for an hour or two.  Its not so much that I like the chore, but its one of the few times Im not running around like a chicken with its head cut off trying to please other people.

Last week I was at the laundry mat minding my own business when something caught my eye.  A college kid had a HUGE bag with probably a month’s worth of clothes.  But it wasnt the person or the amount of laundry that made me look over, it was the custom printed laundry bag.  It was really cool.  The bag actually had directions on how to do your laundry.  It was probably a gift from his mother who had done his laundry his entire life and thought it would be smart so he wouldnt come home with everything  pink or two sizes too much.

After seeing that I found a picture very similar.  I also found a blog specifically about printed laundry bags.  I cant believe the amount of sites that are dedicated to laundry.  I guess you can find really anything on the Internet.

Wow, Mouse Found in Bag of Big Macs

Disgusting!!! I cant believe this, it only enforces all the rumors you hear about the terrible conditions in the fast food industry.  It really seems like employees and managers dont care what they are serving you as long as they are pleasing the big man.  The story reads that a mouse was found in a bag of buns for Big Macs at a McDonalds in Philly.  An employee took a cell phone video and reported that the manager told her to continue to serve the buns after wiping off the mouse dropping.

Unbelievable.  To read the whole story from the Huffington Post click here.

I Really Need A Computer Bag

I recently got a great new job which I’m completely grateful for (especially in this economy).  It definitely took me awhile to find the right fit, but I think it will all pay off in the end.  I’m doing something I love and hopefully will stay put for a long time now.  Only problem is I am doing all my work from my own personal laptop.

When I purchased it, I wanted the biggest screen possible so I would be able to have as much room as I needed to keep everything on the screen and like everyone wanted the option to keep it portable.  However, it turned out to be I just moved from one couch to another with it.  Now that I actually have to take it out of the home on a daily basis, I cant find a computer bag big enough to fit my laptop, which is leaving it exposed.

I have been to stores in the area that sell computer bags, but none of them have the appropriate size.  So I had to make the effort to look online.  Blue Soda Promo had exactly what I was looking for and was able to imprint it with my new company logo!  Now I look stylish when entering the building and everyone wants to know where I got it.  They sell their custom computer bags in bulk, so now I’m taking orders to get everyone in the office one of them!

Save the Planet, Use a Tote Bag!

Nowadays, everyone thinks that they are doing their part in being eco-friendly and saving the planet in one form or another.  So for my first post I thought I would talk about tote bags so I can feel as if Im doing the same.  I use custom tote bags every trip I take to the store.  I no longer have the need for paper or plastic, or finding a place to stash those extra bags because I bring the same tote bags to the grocery store.  Ive found that Blue Soda Promo has an excellent selection of promotional tote bags and the prices seem to be really low after comparing them with a few others.

Well, I think Ive done my part now.  I drive a hybrid, use printed tote bags, and Ive spread the good word to you guys!
